The Frank House at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is set to host a Chamber Orchestra concert on Saturday, Feb 9.
As part of the Saturday at the Frank House program series, the 1: 30 p.m. concert is free and open to the public.
“We like to perform at the Frank House because it has excellent acoustics, and it draws a different audience from the Kearney area,” said Dr. Deborah Freedman, orchestra director and an associate professor in music and performing arts. “We are always looking for new venues in which to perform, since we are such a new group.” The Chamber Orchestra is comprised of UNK students and community members.
The concert will include “Prelude” by Gerald Finzi, “Adagio for Strings” by Tomaso Albinoni, “Brandenburg Concerto #3” by J.S. Bach, “Lord of the Dance” and “Meditation from Thais” by Jules Massenet with soloist Heidi Tillotson.
“I am looking forward to hearing our orchestra in such a beautiful setting and hearing the acoustics of the home,” Dr. Freedman said.
Regular walk-in-hours for tours of the Frank House are Monday - Friday, 2-5 p.m., and Saturday, noon-5 p.m. The Frank House is closed during UNK breaks and holidays. Donations are always accepted.
